NurQisya Adriana Shares Her Journey, Ambitions for 2025 & What Motivates Her.

Can you tell me about the first time you kicked a football? What did it feel like, and did you ever imagine it would become such a big part of your life?
The first time I kicked a football was when I was 6 years old. At that time, my mother took me for a walk around the neighborhood, and we came across a football field where a football club called SOCCER STAR was holding a training session. My mother then asked if my sister and I would like to join the club just for fun to pass the time on the weekends. At that moment, I never imagined that this casual interest in football would end up changing a big part of my life.

What’s your favorite position on the field, and how would you describe your playing style?
My favorite position on the field is as a center-back. I enjoy the responsibility of organizing the defense, breaking up opposition attacks, and leading from the back. I would describe my playing style as similar to that of Sergio Ramos—assertive, composed under pressure, and versatile. I thrive on reading the game, making crucial tackles, and contributing to the team's attack when needed, whether it's through precise passes or set-piece opportunities.

Who is your favorite women’s player here in Malaysia that you look up to, and why?
My favorite women’s player in Malaysia is Steffi Sidhu. I admire her because she plays as a defender, the same position I enjoy. Her skill, composure, and ability to read the game inspire me to refine my own playing style. She’s a role model for demonstrating leadership and resilience on the field, qualities I strive to emulate.

Who is your favorite teammate, or do you have a football best friend? What does she mean to you?
Yes, her name is Indah. We used to play together at the Sime Darby club, and now she is my opponent whenever I face her in each game. She likes to test my abilities as a defender because she plays in the left-wing position and sometimes the right-wing.

How does it feel to play for the SFC Soccer School Under-18 team at just 13 years old?
What challenges or opportunities come with it? Playing for the SFC Soccer School Under-18 team at just 13 years old is incredibly exciting, and my size advantage gives me an edge on the field. However, the challenge lies in needing to work harder because, at 13, I have less experience in high-pressure games. That said, being part of the Under-18 team provides me with invaluable opportunities to gain unexpected experiences. For instance, I recently participated in the MAXIM Event, where I was the only 13-year-old competing in the Under-18 category.

What’s your biggest goal for 2025, and what’s your dream for the future?
My biggest goal for 2025 is to secure a spot in the starting lineup for the SFC Soccer School Under-16 or Under-18 team in major competitions such as the PUTERI FAM League, FAS League, Milo League, and others. My ultimate dream, of course, is to become a defender for the Malaysia U-18 squad, replacing the current defenders. Hehe.

What keeps you going and motivates you to push yourself, even on challenging days?
The unwavering support of my mom and dad, who dedicate their time to taking me to training sessions and matches, inspires me to keep playing and make the most of the energy and resources they’ve invested in me. Additionally, the motivational words from my coach, especially Coach Osmera, fuel my determination to rise to challenges and work even harder.

Do you have a special message you'd like to share with your family, teammates, coaches, or anyone who’s supported you on your journey?
First and foremost, I would like to thank my mom and dad, who are my backbone. They were the ones who first introduced me to the world of football.

A heartfelt thank you to Coach Rudy, the owner of Soccer Star Academy, for accepting me and training me to play football. I am also deeply grateful to Coach Aqilah and especially Coach Liana from ATW Selangor (Selangor Women’s Academy) for teaching and guiding me from the age of 10 to 12. Under their guidance at ATW Selangor, our team achieved incredible success, winning every competition organized by NFDP and others for two consecutive years.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to Velocity FC and Sime Darby FC, the clubs I was fortunate to be a part of, for helping me improve my performance.

Now, I would like to express my deepest thanks to Coach Osmera, the head coach of SFC Soccer School, for his invaluable guidance and the incredible knowledge he has shared with me and my team.

Lastly, I cannot forget my amazing teammates at SFC Soccer School. Our success would not be possible without each other’s support and teamwork.
