Putri Arissa on Her States Experience, LWN Aspirations and Ayuna Anjani

The last time we spoke, you were preparing for the States, and now
you’re back. What did you learn over there, and how was the overall
experience?
I enjoyed my time in the States immensely. I loved the positive environment and the value placed on friendship. The beautiful scenery added to the overall experience, making it even more memorable. I learned a lot about different cultures, improved my personal skills, and made lasting friendships. The positive vibes and supportive atmosphere truly stood out to me.

Are you planning to head back anytime soon?
Currently, I'm considering pursuing my master's degree, possibly in the UK or Australia. However, I'm still weighing my options as I want to gain some work experience first.

The first time I watched you play was with the talented UITM side
during the FASWSL. How was the tournament, and are you satisfied
with what the team achieved?
I am beyond proud of the team. Even though I joined them starting from the quarter-finals, they showed incredible dedication and passion for football. We managed to make history by reaching double finals. It was a remarkable achievement, and I'm very satisfied with what we accomplished together.

What have you been up to besides football?
I am currently waiting for my capital markets classes to begin before my work placement commences on September 2nd with one of the securities companies.

The Liga Wanita Nasional just started, and this time you're with the
Malaysian University Football Team. What’s the goal for the team
this season?
This season, our goal is to build on our strengths and push our limits. We aim to foster strong teamwork, showcase our skills, and strive for the championship. Each match is a step towards our collective and individual growth, and we are determined to give our best performance throughout the season.

What are your honest thoughts about the tournament so far? Is it
meeting your expectations?
The tournament had a great start, but I believe it can be much better. There's always room for improvement, and I think adding live coverage for every match would enhance the experience for fans and players alike. Overall, it has been positive, and I'm hopeful for even better progress as the tournament continues.

What do you think about selling tickets for the first time? Do you
think it will be successful?
Selling tickets is a good startup idea. It not only generates revenue but also encourages more fan engagement. I believe it will be successful as it gives fans a sense of belonging and investment in the games, which can lead to a larger and more enthusiastic audience.

In this season of LWN, is there any player who is flying under the
radar that we should look out for, and what do you think about her?
There are a few players who have shown great potential and are flying under the radar. One player to look out for is Ayuna Anjani from MUFT. She has been consistently improving her game, and her dedication and hard work are truly commendable. I believe she has the potential to make a significant impact this season.

Let’s talk about your teammates. Who are you closest with, and
what does she mean to you?
Ayuna Anjani has been my closest teammate since 2021 when I played for Negeri Sembilan. She means a lot to me as she has always been supportive and a great friend both on and off the field. Her presence and camaraderie have been invaluable to me.

We are in Q3 of 2024. What do you want to achieve on and off the
field before the year ends?
On the field, I want to help my team achieve our goals and win the championship. I aim to improve my skills and contribute as much as possible to our success. Off the field, I want to excel in my capital markets classes and gain valuable experience during my work placement. Balancing both my professional and athletic aspirations
is important to me, and I hope to make significant progress in both areas.

One final question: is there anything you want to say to the people
who have supported your journey as a footballer and to the fans of
women’s football in general?
Thank you for your unwavering support. Your encouragement has been a driving force in my journey, helping me become a well-rounded person. To the fans of women's football, your passion and enthusiasm mean the world to us. Keep supporting, keep believing, and together, we can take women's football to greater heights.
