WISMA FAM: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) together with The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s resolve to enhance the women’s game within our landscape was further underlined when it kicked off the AFC/FAM Women's Diploma 'C' Coaching Course.
Taking place from November 27 to December 1, the course will see 15 participants from various football backgrounds engage in theoretical as well as practical sessions to refine their coaching skills
Following a warm welcome presentation and an introduction that delineated the primary objectives of the program, led by Dato’ Suraya binti Yaacob, Chairman of FAM's Women's Football Committee, the inaugural session of this two-week course unfolded. Guiding them through these insightful discussions were the dynamic duo of the head instructor, Mr. Iqbal Hanafi bin Masduki, and his accomplished assistant, Ms. Petronella Douny.
To apply their freshly acquired insights from classroom discussions, the participants engaged in practical sessions designed to translate their theoretical understanding into tangible on-field proficiency.
Throughout the remaining days of the course, participants will undergo comprehensive training. In addition to having their analytical skills and coaching capabilities assessed, they will receive invaluable insights and updates on best practices for crafting long-term development courses. As the participants absorb theoretical wisdom, they'll be challenged to manifest their newfound knowledge on the field, translating concepts into tangible coaching proficiency. Beyond the boundaries of the classroom, the Diploma 'C' course is poised to foster an environment where aspiring coaches can apply their insights, honing their abilities in real-time scenarios.
In essence, strengthening women's coach education is vital, given the notable advancements in the women's game and the increasing number of women coaches. It is those coaches armed with a profound understanding who can mold the future's high-caliber players. These courses play a pivotal role in ensuring the enduring growth of women's football. The steadfast commitment to elevating expertise in women's football coaching ensures a promising path for the sport's development in the region.
